Focus/revision Courses

Pas Class hosts revision courses at key stages throughout the academic year. Fun, engaging and extremely well prepared courses are capped at very small group sizes or individual basis. This course offers an intensive, exam-focused revision programmer, aimed at students preparing to take their IB/IGCSE/MYP Curriculum, whether internal or external. Students will consolidate their knowledge of the course, practice exam techniques, and gain confidence ahead of the end of the academic year.

Classes are limited to a maximum of 4 students to ensure each student gains the benefits of private tuition or combined with small group-based learning.

The aim of MYP individuals and societies is to encourage students to gain and develop knowledge, conceptual understanding, research skills, analytical and interpretive skills, and communication skills, contributing to the development of the student as a whole.

The aims of the MYP Language acquisition is the study of modern foreign languages that help students to acquire a means of communication and an understanding of the linguistic, cultural, and social elements of the communities where these languages are spoken. Students need to be able to communicate about information, Concepts, ideas and opinions and to demonstrate comprehension of these, both orally and in writing.

Students learn and understand the primary as well as secondary languages best when their learning experiences have context and are connected to their lives and their experience in their day to day life. Each unit in the languages has a global context. By exploring this context, students are able to connect their learning to the wider world, developing an understanding of international mindedness and their common humanity in the perspective of different languages.

Approaches to learning MYP Language Acquisition:

Taught throughout all MYP Languages Acquisition, approaches to learning (ATL) provide the foundation for independent learning and encourage the application of knowledge, concepts and skills in unfamiliar contexts. Developing and applying these social, thinking, research, communication and self-management skills helps students learn how to learn.

In the MYP Language Acquisition Students requires the study of at least two languages (language of instruction and additional language of choice) to support students in understanding their own cultures and those of others empowers students to participate in service within the community.
